My second grade classroom is rarely still. If you were to walk into my room you would see students working all over the classroom: under tables, on the rug, at desks, and on computers. My students are motivated to learn and love to get involved in projects. We work together to solve problems and group work is part of every day. Due to the fact that we are a fully inclusive school, students are engaged with a diverse group of other students. As an inclusive classroom, we work to make sure all students feel engaged an valued, regardless of their first language or their disabilities. Even though we all have a variety of different needs and backgrounds students work to make sure everyone feels valued. At the end of the day we even get together to nominate students to be "scholar of the day" if they acted in a way they made others feel respected, included, and safe. It is a great time for students to value each other.
