My students will benefit from having a comfortable area where we can meet as a whole group. The circle carpets will help provide that comfortable seating area for them. It will also give my students the opportunity to move around and become more engaged in the instruction. Movement has been shown to be one of the best ways to gain control over their behavior and to engage with what is being taught to them. Not only will this project help my students become more engaged, but it will also provide a sense of community within the classroom. When students feel as though they are part of a community, they feel secure, nurtured, and supported by the environment.

About my class
