Teaching has been an extravagant journey so far! During my three years of teaching, I have had the awesome experience of looping up with my students each year. Being able to teach first, second, and third grade has given me the chance to learn just as much with me as the teacher. Teaching in a Title One school has given me the opportunity to work with children that are not as fortunate as others. About 80% of my class receive free or reduced lunch. Not only is it my mission to ensure that my students are mastering state-aligned standards, but I also strive to make sure that my students are taught what it is like to be a good citizen. My vision for the perfect classroom is a student-center focus. This environment is less on the teacher and more on the students. Learning occurs through centers, activities, discussions, collaboration, and differentiated learning. Each child is met exactly where they are.
