This project aims to introduce students to phonics, not only using books, but also through games. These games will be used during Literacy Centers, where students will work independently or with a friend to practice their new skills. The games I chose are backed by the Science of Reading. This means that students are not simply memorizing sight words or different rules--they are truly learning how to decode each word depending on the letters and their sounds. I am SO excited for my students to start learning to read through purposeful play!
