My students have discovered 2 spiders living on the screen of our window. They have also discovered if they hold a magnifying glass up to the window they can see each leg and spot on this once frightening creature. The idea of magnifying items has sparked a new curiosity in my children. It has made them brave to explore. I want to continue this exploration! I want them to see the Fibonacci sequence on plants and small animals. I want them to see that there is a world much deeper than the one we see with our "big eyes"- this will grow learners who love math and science. This will grow learners who understand and crave something more! There is so much to "spy with our little microscope eyes."
