Students with autism are very visual learners. Tangible objects help support visual representations for students to learn concepts and skills. These materials will support my students needs of hands-on learning to gain knowledge of science and the world around them! Science has been a challenge in our classroom as our only materials have been text books and digital labs on the computer. The students are not engaged and are showing a lack of interest in science. These materials will help them engage in the content to gain a deeper understanding of science. The All About Animals, All About Plants, All About Me, Pushing Moving and Pulling and Exploring Matter flip charts will provide simple visuals to support the text we read. The use of file folders and science sorts will allow the students to interact with the content to show their level of understanding. The STEM Classroom Bundle activities and Science File Folder Games will provide them first hand opportunities to understand things like force and motion. I am also requesting My First Science Library and Physical Science book sets. Help my students gain access to the same concepts as their general education peers!
