We need flexible seating options, various fidgets for independent work time, timers for task management, art materials for self expression, and a new carpet for whole group lessons!
These resources will help my students to keep better focus on tasks during both independent work time, as well as, whole group instruction. The chairs we currently have in our classroom are not ideal for long periods of seat work especially for children with weakened cores. The new chairs will help students to remain on task for longer periods of time and maximize their learning. Children on the Autism spectrum also tend to struggle with self Regulation, creating an environment where they are not struggling to adapt in greatly increases the probability of success in the classroom. The benefits that these materials will have are endless!
