I love having my students use technology in the classroom. It increases student engagement, improves student retention, and benefits a range of learning styles. However, my low income school does not currently have the resources or funding to provide the needed technology in our classroom. This project will allow myself and my students to access technology in a brand new way in the classroom. The students in the Reading Center will be able to move more freely in the classroom, be able to see text on a larger scale and use the interactive whiteboard for visual aids, presentations and videos. As a facilitator I will be able to model lessons during our group time and provide the students the tools they need to become better readers. This projector would be used everyday to help all the students we service in our Reading Center.
