We teach third grade at Witch Hazel Elementary, which is an AVID (college and career readiness program), Dual Language, Title I school located in Hillsboro, Oregon. With the dual language/AVID instructional model, there is a strong focus on organization, which requires students to carry more materials. Our students split their day between two classrooms and two teachers, having to carry their school supplies between the two classrooms. This can prove challenging for third graders. In our dual language classroom, we have 60 students in total and often times, students drop their materials causing their notebooks to become disorganized and a loss of class time as they reorganize their supplies. Our goal is to provide students with a means to keep their supplies organized in the classroom as well as during the transition between their two classrooms. We believe that over the seat chair sacks, like the EAI Education Neat Seat Classroom Chair Organizer, will be the best solution to this problem.
