With this project, I will be creating a comfort closet at our school to help service over 500 students. All of the students in our school qualify based on income for free breakfast, lunch, and after school care. This also means that many times finances at home are not enough to provide new or clean clothes. Being able to provide a student’s basic needs of cleanliness and comfort is the first step in making sure they are ready to learn in the classroom. There have been many times sitting in trainings that we are told as educators, in order for children to be able to learn they must first have their primal needs of hunger, cleanliness, and comfort met. I am hoping that by utilizing these storage supplies I will be able to have better organization of the donations we have received and be better prepared for additional donations in the future.
