My school currently services students in special education grades 1-8. Since we have a wide range of grades and disabilities, Chromebooks are a much-needed resource that could enhance our ability to differentiate assignments and instruction for our students. The goal is to provide each student with a Chromebook to use in the classroom versus the traditional paper and pencil tasks where they have less success. While we still want students to improve on writing, technology gives students the tools and capability to respond in ways they cannot on paper. There are various educational learning applications that would increase their skills such as voice to text, text to speech, voice recording apps, and educational programs. Technology, specifically Chromebooks, would benefit my students because I will be able to accommodate their individual needs and level of instruction. My students deserve more than one way to demonstrate their learning abilities.
