Since I teach remedial math courses, most of my students come from historically disadvantaged backgrounds and are considered "at-risk" for dropping out. What I love about my students is their resilience in facing obstacles and the fact that many will be the first in their family to graduate high school. Despite failing math repeatedly, they still show up and work hard in hopes that this time it will be different. I admire their hardworking spirit and refusal to give up.

About my class
