It is my desire to encourage movement in my classroom. As a first year teacher, I have always desired to have differentiated seating for the students whom I will be teaching. I have not met the future world changers' of Miss H's classroom just yet, but I want them all to have the best learning environment as possible. I will be teaching second grade. This age group is such a wonderful age to provide movement throughout learning. Children at these ages (7-8) need constant movement. I want to teach with a wave movement throughout the classroom. Having differentiated seats such as bouncy bands, stools, ball chairs, and wobble cushions will help students sit at their tables/desks in ways that are best to stimulate their learning style. Sitting still in hard seats is not for everyone. And every child deserves the best learning environment!
