Due to COVID-19, many of our students' instructional programs are being implemented through the use of technology. Our students with special needs require creative and alternative solutions to help them access instruction. Headphones will provide our students with the ability to listen, understand, comprehend, and engage with their learning. Some students read below grade level, and therefore benefit from the support of e-books, videos, and text-to-speech. They will also be used to provide support for our students who may have sensory difficulties and require noise-cancelling supports. The headphones will be provided to all special education teachers to have as a class set for their students. We have a large population of special education students, but this project will provide enough sets to give each teacher a few to start a class set.
