These flexible seating items represent the first great opportunity for my students to have choice in their seating arrangement in our class. Currently, they all sit at standard desks in groups of two. The stretchy bands and the wobble cushions will enable students to have more movement while at their seats. These items would also include additional options that we've never had before, such as sitting on the floor using a cushion, reclining and moving in a scoop rocker, or sitting at our counter space with an active learning stool. Providing seating choices for my students will increase their engagement, focus, and academic performance, while also providing them an appropriate outlet for all their 8- and 9-year-old energy! By having the choice to move around the room and use different tools, they can each choose a space and strategy that is most successful for them.
