My students are a lively bunch of middle schoolers! They flock into my classroom each morning with smiles on their faces despite some of the many hardships that they have to endure outside of the walls of our learning space. Most of my students qualify for free or reduced lunch. Many students come from single parent homes, and some of my students have responsibilities at home far greater than any 13 year old should have to deal with. I take great pride in doing my best to make our room a safe and welcoming environment where each child feels valued and loved. Many of my students come into my class with an aversion to math in the beginning of the year, but they quickly find themselves staying after school so that they can improve their skills and truly understand concepts. I encourage my students to take risks in our class and make mistakes so that they can learn from them. We love learning and growing together!
