This school year will be unlike any other. As we begin the school year online I cannot help to think about all of the challenges students will be facing. This is especially true for kindergarten students who have never attended school before and need a great amount of support from adults to complete their school work. In kindergarten, much of the curriculum needs to be modeled for students with a visual representation. Although I will be using a webcam to teach through video lessons, students will need to be able to see me model how to form letters, how to use scissors properly, how to hold their pencil, etc. By using a document camera, I will be able to model the correct approach to these tasks more efficiently. This tool will help me to provide students with access to a clear representation of whole group instruction as well as individual and small group support. By using a document camera, I will create a better online learning environment for my students. I know that this tool will help to support their learning through all of the kindergarten standards. I wish to provide my students with the most "normal" school experience possible during this transition to distance learning. I would greatly appreciate your support in helping me to give them the best learning experience that I can!
