My classroom in the Alternative Academic Setting (AAS) room. When Middle and High School students misbehave or break the school rules, they are sent to my room as an alternative to suspension. Students may be assigned the AAS room for 1 period to a couple of days. During their time in AAS, we do behavior reflections and counseling. In addition, they work on assignments in order to stay up to date with their classes. Some of my students go to AAS once and immediately change their behaviors. Others repeat AAS and we continue to work through counseling on behavior management.
