I work with 6th, 7th, and 8th grade beginner English Language Learners. My students are in the process of learning English. I admire my students because they speak English at school and typically another language at home. As their fluency in English increases, they become bilingual...a skill that will carry them through their lifetime. Speaking and listening come first. Reading and writing English is the most challenging part of learning English. In addition, I am also the Color Guard Instructor for grades 7-8. There are 30 students who twirl both baton and flags. For many of them, it is their first time experiencing the thrill of being a part of the marching band. They strive to be the best so that they can join the Easton Area High School Marching Band in high school.
