My students need to have the choice to use tools that will increase their focus, engagement and on task behavior. If my students have these choices available to them, they will have more opportunities to have responsibility for their learning. Flexible learning seating can increase motivation and engagement, creates a better oxygen flow to the brain, improves core strength as well as overall posture and uses excess energy. Right now, in our classroom we have all the usual "traditional furniture". Traditional furniture does not fit the needs of the 21st century classroom. If our project gets funded, we will be on our way to transforming our classroom into the 21st century classroom where our individual meets will be met.
