The materials you are helping to provide will allow for students to have more seating options during independent work time. Flexible seating provides students with a way to take charge of their learning and make choices that work best for them. Various flexible seating options give students an alternative to traditional desk chairs, which allows them to move their bodies, calm anxiety, and improve their focus. Currently my students are choosing to work in a variety of locations in our room such as: at standing tables, at their own seats, on the carpet with a lap tray, and sitting or laying on the floor with a clip board. With your help, we could add wiggle seats, rolling stools, tactile pillows and stability balls to students' flexible seating options. Students will be allowed to choose an option that works best for their learning style, giving them control of their learning while allowing for multiple ways to improve their focus and engagement while getting their wiggles out and bodies moving in a productive way!
