This grant will provide literature that integrates math content and concepts. Last year, I personally purchased a few texts. With these, I would read them as a part of our math focus lessons or interactive read alouds. Then, my students would have the opportunity to read them as a part of our math centers. Last year, my students absolute loved to read them and this was one of their favorite centers! By purchasing more texts on a wider variety of topics, I hope to expand this experience and opportunity for them! The goal is to create life-long learners and lovers of math by giving them new ways to access the content through literature. These books will help them experience and access math in a different way that is cross curricular.
