Within my classroom students learn to be inspirational, innovative, and challenged to have a growth mindset. More than 40% of students are on free reduce lunch. I am often nurturing young minds to feel safe, and comfortable. However, this does not define them! My students lead discussions, teach others, and show their practice in many ways. This is my 3rd year as a second grade elementary teacher. I have a very energetic and positive group of students who often need space and comfort to explore. I believe with the needs of my students who are Cognitively Impaired, Sensory Disorders, Defiance Disorders, and on the Autistic Spectrum highly benefit from flexible seating. We are often refraining from sitting at desk but finding our own comfort throughout the room. My students enjoy learning about the world around them and often broaden there academic interests.
