My students are 1st graders who are eager and excited about learning. They come from different backgrounds and cultures, and all bring different experiences and prior knowledge into the classroom. I teach at a Title 1 school and most of the purchasing I do for my classroom is out of pocket. Not all of my students have the support and access to necessary and diverse reading materials that they need in order to be successful learners. They are eager to read, but need help getting diverse text in order to do so.
