As mentioned, our playground area is lack luster. Our campus is extremely dated. Our campus got funding for a new playground set last year, but due to covid only one class can play on the new small area at a time and we share it with P.E. coaches/special times as well.Through the years we have lost several pieces of equipment leaving just a field behind with two other small areas to play (barely). I am working to bring this area back to life. Our students get so excited to go play at recess. However, there isn't anything to do and when it is hot out- there is no shade trees, coverage, or places to sit down. So, or recess might be 15 minutes at best with some balls in a grassy area. I know that this is a large project - more expensive than what is typically funded. Please know that this is the START to fixing a LARGE problem on our campus. I intend on adding more to this from additional funding/ community connections. Our students will be THRILLED to have these basketball goals, giant yard games, and seating/shade options. Help us bring Bear Nation back to life for recess!
