Hello! This year my classroom motto is "Literacy is Liberating!" My students kicked off the new school year by reading The Narrative of Frederick Douglass and writing their own literacy narrative. For many of them, to articulate how literacy has impacted their own lives was very challenging. This motto is painted on our wall and embedded into so many of the conversations we have with each new text we read. Thank you for your support and helping me make my classroom community a place where this motto can truly come to life!
