As technology is taking a more prevalent role in the classroom, we are trying to keep up with the needs that come along with it. My students are fortunate to each have access to a laptop and multiple online platforms that allow for differentiated, individualized instruction. One of the needs that come along with the push for technology is access to headphones. As a school in a low income/high poverty neighborhood, many students don't have access to headphones or the means to buy them. Currently, the majority of my students are on these programs at the same time as their classmates without being able to hear the instruction that was picked specifically for them. Headphones for each of my students would allow them to concentrate on their own differentiated computer programs to reach their individual needs.
