Many of the supplies on my list will aid students in their learning of not only science but about themselves as individual learners. In my classroom, I specifically stress modeling, classroom discussions, differentiated instruction, and producing creative student learning outcomes, as well as providing opportunities for multiple types of lab activities for hands-on experiences of various phenomenon. I focus on creating lessons that are equitable and reach students where they are while creatively achieving the goals of NGSS and Ambitious Science Teaching. Specific supplies such as the whiteboards on my wish list allow students to discuss ideas with one another and me as the teacher to act as a facilitator to the learning and the students as the active participants. The Snatoms and other lab materials allow students to see, feel, and experience the abstract world of science and make it accessible to them and the concepts that we will learn together this year. I can’t wait to embark on the year with my students and the years to come!
