I work in a low income urban neighborhood. My school is an expeditionary learning school that focuses on exploring learning and digging deeper; making real life connections to our learning. The school itself is very old and needs a lot of work. Sadly, our budget continues to get smaller and smaller each year with new developments being built in the community and families choosing to opt out of public education. Regardless of our budget, my students deserve so much more and I am on a mission to help them with that!
