With a class time often limited and scholars at all different reading levels, teaching content and skills sometimes can be overwhelming for scholars. With graphic novels, it helps to engage scholars in some challenging topics the same way a comic book would! I am looking to build my classroom library with graphic novels to help build scholars' content knowledge and engagement with texts. Many of my students will watch a video or read a Manga, graphic novels can tell history in the same way. By incorporating graphic novels with primary source texts, I can help students decode the sometimes confusing timelines with visuals.
