Hello! I am a 9th grade English teacher in Newark, NJ. There are about 125 students among my classes this year, most of whom are severely behind grade level when it comes to reading. I work tirelessly to bring them meaningful classroom experience, such as engaging reading materials, classroom debate, and challenging projects. This year, we plan to work with Of Mice and Men by John Steinbeck, Monster by Walter Dean Myers, and Romeo and Juliet, among other works. These challenging and engaging texts will form the basis for leaps and bounds in my students' progress. You can help change my students' lives! Your support of our classroom will help my students recover years of lost education due to poorly resourced schools.
