The current classroom is SDC (self-contained). This means that students are sitting in a plastic chair in front of a desk for about 7 hours out of the day. Flexible seating options help to ensure that students have options and ways to learn. A lot of my students' disabilities require frequent movement and choices to be successful in the lessons. Students currently ask to stand and move around, but with no support resources, their options are limited. Research has shown that flexible seating, especially with teens, help students to be successful in the classroom. The items in the cart allow for students to stand, wiggle, and sit any where in the classroom and still learn.
