A calming area will help the students regain their composure to continue learning and going about with their day. The students in this class all deal with different or multiple disabilities and need frequent breaks to gain back energy. Currently my students don't have an area they can pull away to during stressful situations and either go out for a walk or sit a side for a few minutes. After a quick break and some time with some sensory items provided, they return energized and ready to continue learning. The items that I have selected will provide my students with options to sit in a specific area designed to help them take a breath in order to return composed and ready for their day.
