I’ve come to learn that 4th graders are very active in classrooms which at times allows students to participate in frequent off task behaviors. Students do their best when they are comfortable in order to help them engage in their learning. Flexible seating will provide students the environment they need to be their best with less frequent off task behaviors. Each of these items are made for different needs for these students. For example, my fidgety students they will have the choice between a wobble chair, balance ball, wobble cushion and chair fidget band to help keep them moving within their own seats. Meanwhile my very active student that like to get out of their seats frequently will most likely work best with a balance ball to bounce but still focus on their learning. These flexible seating options will allow my students to experience being a part of a classroom community where their needs are met, they’re are comfortable and ready to learn.
