My students are diverse with all different needs. They learn by hearing, seeing and doing chemistry (experiments); this is why I try to address all 3 ways of learning with every topic so all students can learn. I try not to give to many notes but to have them learn by doing...it works better and it makes chemistry more enjoyable. They can all learn chemistry...just at different paces. My school is middle income and very supportive of student learning. It's a safe and fun place to learn. The teachers and administration strive to continue to improve the learning experience with many electives, ap classes, internship opportunities as well as a great variety of clubs and athletics. Over the years, AP chemistry has grown from 1 class that was half full to 2 classes as interest and reputation of the challenging but fun class has spread. I encourage hands on learning by doing at least one experiment per week that we share with middle school students at the end of the year.
