Skills USA is a national career and technical organization serving high schools throughout the country. In addition to their regular course load, each year my students work hard to qualify for various events at the State Competition. This year, these four students came together to form our Health Knowledge Bowl Team and spent countless hours on their own preparing to compete against other teams across the state. All their hard work paid off this year they won first place. These students have now earned the chance to compete against other Health Knowledge Bowl Teams at the National Competition in Kentucky. While being awarded the opportunity to participate in National Competition is a great honor, it also is very expensive. It requires a flight to Kentucky, hotel rooms, and registration fees. Not only will the students benefit from the experience of competition, they will also get to travel and experience another part of the country.
