Because of the rezoning increase in our student population last year, our physical (building) space is limited. Adequately supporting our students in positive behavior practices has become challenging due to the limited space, thus creating an influx of incident reports in the category of students with special needs. Research is showing positive trends using meditation and mindfulness as opposed to disciplinary actions. I plan to teach (after school) mindful movement (yoga) to 30 students at a time. They will use the yoga mats and blocks to learn yoga, then use the cleaner to disinfect and clean the mats for the next group/class.
