As a math teacher at a very high-performing school, I have seen first hand, the effects that stress has on a young mind. My students are so bright, yet carry with them the weight and pressure to achieve and succeed; so much so that they forget that their capacity to succeed in math -and life- is limitless. This is even more evident in a post-pandemic world, where the educational experience has been limited and unauthenticated in order to maintain the health and safety of all students. With this professional development training by Breathe For Change, I believe that I can create a learning environment that is holistically student-centered, and relieves at least some of the stressors that my young students are already walking into my classroom with. I envision a wholesome learning environment, that gives my students the space and safety to tackle all problems with confidence and self empowerment.
