The tuning devices being requested clip onto the instruments and measure the audible sound or vibrations of the instruments, displaying a pitch name on the device's screen. The strings on instruments have to be tuned regularly to ensure the notes being played are as accurate as possible. All musicians, especially beginners, can gain comfort in tuning with this tuner because it provides a visual guide to what pitch is being produced so they can determine what adjustments are needed. Teaching the students to tune their own instruments allows them to be self-reliant in and outside of the classroom, maximizes class time, and helps train their ears to hear what is in or out of tune quicker without the use of a tuner or teacher. With time, they can use the tuner to adjust intonation issues created by finger placement as well as their open-strings.
