My students have difficulty sitting still for long periods of time. They currently sit in traditional flat four legged chairs. Ten minutes into a small group, they become restless and start getting out of their seats due to sensory needs. Flexible seating will allow them to get their wiggles out, engage in small groups for ELA an math and reach academic success. My students also have difficulty cutting and receive occupational therapy, but they only get to use squeeze scissor when OT provides them. They will be able to participate in cutting tasks more successfully if they each had a pair of their own.
