This project will give students the opportunity to collaborate and problem-solve with their peers at the beginning of each math class. This will also serve as critical social-emotional wellness time. I chose different open-ended STEM building toys because they allow for creativity and imagination. Several of these manipulatives can also be used during our geometry unit. The goal of this project is to bring some much-needed joy into my students' day and provide them with a mindful activity that builds collaboration skills and confidence. Allowing students to transition from their other classes with a moment of wellness and joy will truly transform their learning each day in math class.
