These microscopes will help to engage my art students in the visual nature of using microscopes to see the very smallest parts of our world. Since I have worked at this school and from when the school was started, the science department has had the same 10 compound microscopes for students to use. They are old, in various conditions of working, and extremely heavy for students to carry around. These microscopes will allow students to see macroinvertebrates in motion and gain an appreciation for different aspects of our ecosystems. I would love to update how we look at science, technology, and give kids a more hands-on approach to exploring the topic of science to students of all abilities. Students will use these microscopes to examine the complexity and differences in the variety of life forms on Earth.
