Imagine a child who is talented, bright, wants to learn, but just can’t due to their inability to focus. Now imagine that same child given alternative seating that will allow them to learn just in a different manner. Students who have attention deficits learn better through movement. They move, stay focused, and learn. By using alternative seating , students can get the movement needed without disturbing other students in the classroom, staying focused on the task at hand. All students can benefit from alternative seating because all students need to move throughout the day. Movement refreshes the brain allowing students to gain as much knowledge as possible.
