I strongly believe that inspiring a love of reading is an essential part of my job as an educator. If a child fundamentally LOVES to read, they will strive to become a better reader. I have made Harry Potter a part of my literature curriculum for the past four years, and I have watched children get so engaged in the magic of the novel that they couldn't put the book down. Five years ago, I scoured used book stores and flea markets for months to buy enough copies of "Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone" in order for each of my students to have one for a novel study. The books were not in great shape, and now, years later, they are falling apart. Please help me to get a new set of books so that I can continue to foster a love of reading for years to come.
