I teach at a public school in Louisiana. This school is special because it is a French and Spanish Immersion school. Students come to me for their reading time for 2 hours a day. ELA is the only subject they receive in English. I am impressed everyday at these elementary age students who are bilingual. I want them to have a comfortable, happy place to read books in the classroom. As of right now they just have to stay in their seat, or sit on the carpet floor. It is important that they increase their reading fluency and comprehension in my class time. They will also be able to use the seats and books in their second language classes, because I share a classroom with the immersion teachers.
