When comfortable, my students are more likely to be present and engaged for 1:1, small group instruction, and in leisure, library, and sensory areas. Traditional classroom desk chairs are not meeting the needs of my students, who learn best while physically engaged, which can be provided by the balance ball, wiggle cushions, and bean bag chair (which also serves double duty as storage for plush items in the class.) My students will benefit from multiple methods of accessing instruction and demonstrating progress and mastery toward their goals. That is where the OSMO system comes in - to provide a highly motivating way to engage students in learning. The headphones will allow students to listen to audio books of varying levels, interests, and languages without affecting the sensory needs of other students.
