I teach a variety of students at Freedom High School. I have freshmen and sophomores in Honors Biology who are preparing to take and End of Course Exam, along with sophomores and juniors in my AVID class preparing for college. AVID stands for Advancement Via Individual Determination (a college prep type of course designed for middle achieving, low socioeconomic students, who are often the first in their families to go to college). My school is largely minority students, many of which come from low-income families. My students see education as a way to overcome these obstacles and I want to do everything I can to help them fulfill their dreams.
