My school is nestled in a nice community of families that know the value of education. While the parents send there children to school ready to learn, and the kids can be enthusiastic learners, we lack the technology to learn with even though we're in a very high tech area. The students are bright and energetic but need more of a challenge to really boost their problem solving skills. Project-based learning is the best way for these kids to learn, but they are often limited by the amount of resources they are provided with by a very large and difficult to fund school district. My kids come alive when they are presented with projects that include a variety of tools and techniques from using tablets to artistically laying out and publishing writing pieces that they drafted, edited, and revised over time. They thrive when they are challenged.
