I anticipate that the utility and practicality of touch devices and the associated resources will become apparent relatively quickly with my students. We need four iPads to enhance their learning in Geometry. Having iPads in the classroom will help my students with whole-class exploration and discussion. The use of iPads allows me to set up activity centers to support further small group exploration, and finally allow individual or pair use to support consolidation, self-directed learning, fluency building, and assessment. There are thousands of apps on iTunes designed to support learning in math. With iPads in the classroom the students will have learning centers where they are able to use familiar apps to work on extended challenges; to identify, share, and evaluate strategies; and to expand and consolidate their understanding of underlying concepts.
