Post-It White Board Paper would be a big help in creating usable space in my classroom. Students in my classroom are regularly broken up into collaborative groups and teams, and I am working on building in more problem based learning into the curriculum this year. Having the space for students to collaborate and create would be a huge help in developing the interpersonal and critical skills that teachers work so hard to build. Sharing in a physical space where students can visualize their ideas and problem solve is essential in a contemporary classroom. My current classroom has brown chalkboards which are incredibly hard for students to read when using any color chalk. Chalkboards also pose a problem for many students who experience sensory issues and prevent them from participating fully in the classroom experience.
